Bare-bones apartment in excellent location, good value. Positive: Excellent location for visiting the Detroit Institute of Arts and other nearby museums and galleries, as well as architectural strolls in and around Wayne State University. Easy free street parking in front of the building. Negative: Apartment door code was not what we were given in the check-in information. It took awhile phoning the management company (who didn’t pick up but texted us back) to get the correct code (which actually was easier to memorize than the code in the check-in info because it differed from the front-door code by only the last digit). Kitchen had no towel rack or dish towels and minimal cooking and dining supplies (no frying pan, no baking sheet, no measuring cups, few forks, knives, and spoons). Bathtub was slippery and lacked a non-slip mat. Lighting was so-so, making it hard for two people to read in the living room. Should be easy for them to improve, if they want to.

Very disappointing Positive: The neighborhood Negative: Everything in the apartment was broken. From the couch to the shower to the bed.. had to sleep on the air mattress in the living room. Shower was clogged and they wanted me to check for hair from previous guests which is disgusting. Would never stay there again.

Read the fine print when you finalize your booking. There is an entire document of additional policies you must agree to. While we booked the to visit our kid in college, we found out too late that they could not enter the property. NOTE: do not try to use the elevator closest to the entrance. Proceed down the hall to the functioning elevator. The condition of the apartment was “meh”. Bed was very comfortable. However the couch was missing its legs (!) which made it too low to use comfortably. The LR ceiling light burned out after day 1 and the host did nothing. Clearly there had at one point been 4 sets of flatware and glasses, but about half were missing. Host refuses to use VRBOs platform for communication. They were minimally responsive through their designated platform. Another red flag 🚩

Convenient location and comfortable bed. Positive: The proximity to where we planned to visit in Detroit was perfect. The bed was extremely comfortable and the sheets were so soft. Everything was very clean, and the people we encountered in the building were all very pleasant and friendly. Plenty of close parking. Overall it was a great stay. Negative: The ring doorbell camera made chime noises all the time. Anytime there was any action in the hallway, even in the middle of the night and early morning. The ice and water dispensers on the fridge don’t work. The couch had no legs and was sitting on the floor. It was very awkward to sit and get up because the seat was practically on the floor. Need lamps in the living room.
